Jose Vidal & Co
The origins of José Vidal & Cía date back to 2010 in London, with the Hopscotch collective, created by José Vidal together with Juliana Majo and Monserrat Ventura, after Vidal completed a Master of Arts in Contemporary Dance and worked as an associate artist at The Place.
In 2011 Vidal returns to Chile with the intention of sharing his creative search and continue to bring together people from different cultures, disciplines, areas and life experiences, around the scenic experimentation of the body in movement. Since then, the company has been constituted as a flexible and mutant structure, where its participants go according to the artistic needs and ecosystems that compose the director.
The company is characterised by the synergy of the collective, resulting from the meeting and feedback of the performers who make up a dynamic of collaborations. It is a continuous and mutual learning instance of technical, theoretical and artistic knowledge of the stable cast and of invited experts, who contribute with specific skills. In this way, the group activates a collective intelligence in permanent transformation, organic and in tune with the social and cultural field.
